SIMIS-W Electronic Interlocking for Worldwide Use

Abstract - This paper presents the features and capabilities of the SIMIS® family’s latest edition. As its predecessors, SIMIS-W® is a geographically based interlocking. High modularity yields the chance to configure very small stations with single-cabinet interlockings, as well as large nodes with over 1000 points and signals. Integrated control modules minimize design, installation and testing time. A graphical development tool allows a representation of signalling logic, which is similar to relay circuits, making it easy to be read and verified by signalling engineers. The complete station design is covered with an integrated tool on a personal computer, allowing this portion to be done by the supplier, a consultant or the customer himself.

Keywords - Railway signalling, computer-based interlocking system, safety critical software, geographical principle.
