Control Device KU-1

Abstract:

KU-1 control device is an equipment of a modern concept controlling 400 relays, with possible extension to control up to 4096 relays. It is based on the two push-buttons principle. Its main purpose is control of station interlocking equipment, down to the level of the route setting. The separation of controlling equipment from the indication panel makes possible to generalize the controlling equipment (to be independent of a railway station layout). As a result, the keyboard is realized as an independent mobile unit that facilitates manipulations. The railway station layout influences the appearance of the indication panel, while for KU-1 control equipment is only needed to select the appropriate controls from the advance realized and available groups of controls. Modularity enables easy extension, quick diagnostics and simple elimination of failures and reduces the time necessary for the assembling and testing. The safety features of the hardware make impossible issuing of a wrong control and provide information about the time duration and correctness of the controls. Minimal size, low consumption and low cost are obtained by the application of domestic components in the TTL or CMOS technology.
