Abstract:

This paper presents the general modular structure of the fail-safe computer system for the railway interlocking systems control with decentralized operation of the functional demands. The special attention has been paid to the central processing unit, whose fail-safety is provided by the application of the double identical module redundancy with the fail-safe computer in the fail-safe mode of operation with the possibility of hand control in the case of the system failure. For the proposed hardware solution, the calculation of the fail-safety, reliability and availability has been carried out on the base of the appropriate models, proving that the traditional railways rules are satisfied.
